2 year old LG dishwasher. Cleans very well. Last month started making a Loyd humming/grinding noise. Our trusted appliance repairman will not work on LG dishwashers due to fire hazard and suggested I replace it. Very upset. Retired and cant afford to not have things last.

Worst Service Experience

No issues with the dishwasher itself but the installation was a mess and calling LG customer service was even worse. The installers showed up with no tools-not even a screwdriver and refused to install the dishwasher. I then called customer service who said well have someone call you within 48 hours to schedule service. No one did and I ended up having a plumber install the dishwasher as it was around the time of Thanksgiving. I called customer service and got passed around like a hot potato to people who spoke limited english and transferred me to different departments. I have yet to get refunded for the installation cost $169.99 and the haul away $25 after ordering on 11/10. I wish I had ordered from Home Depot instead of dealing with this nonsense. Customer service provider seemed to be reading off a script and was not helpful at all. Heads up if you are wanting a dishwasher installed I was told you need an electrician/plumber to remove the old dishwasher before they can install the new one. Thats if the LG installers show up with the tools.

Im very pleased with this dishwasher. Its large so I can have many dishes cleaned quicker. There is a lot of room for cutlery so I always have clean forks when I need them. Its smudge-proof so the stainless steel always looks clean. I highly recommend recommend.

I bought this brand/model because it was on sale and closer to reasonable price than most. It has the 3rd top rack which is nice but I need more space for small pet bowls and the bottom rack is best for large utensils.Not quite what I wanted. Front controls are so sensitive the machine turns on while I am working on the counter above it. Did not have that issue with a previous front control machine I used for many years.

I would recommend another brand

I bought this 2.5 years ago and have been complaining to repair people since I got it about how bad it cleans.Turns out the pump has probably been bad since I got it but since its past the 2 years I had to pay for the repairs labor and they covered just the pump. Another problem is that the rails for the upper rack stick out just a little when you push it in so it is denting the stainless steel liner of the door. I will not buy another LG device for my home again. I was also warned by the repair company not to buy ANY LG fridge or freezer and the other household appliances are hit or miss. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this unit

Ive had this dishwasher for 2 weeks now and for the most part I am satisfied with its performance to a point. The glaring deficiency is that the dishwasher does not stop its cycle if you open the door while it is on. Ive many dishwashers in the past and every one of them would shut down if the door is opened. I tried to explain this to customer service rep but she ignored my concern and try to say that its normal for the washer to do thatwhich is totally false. I asked for her supervisor and she claimed that no one was available. She refused to assist me any further and it was fruitless to continue with her. Even the installer said that this is not normal operation.

The cycle never finishes because the unit overheats. Ive had 4 LG technicians out to repair it and the unit still doesnt work. LG will not refund me or replace the unit. They just keep sending people out to my house to try and fix it. Its a total waste of everyones time and resources. I just want a refund.

Very disappointed in the after purchase support. After being told a service tech was going to be sent out to repair our machine. We never did receive a phone call. Many emails telling us how to troubleshoot it again. But that was done initially and we were told a service tech would call the schedule. Needless to say 3 weeks later we ended up buying a part and fixing it ourselves. Would not recommend based on service experience.

We bought this dishwasher from Best Buy a year and one half ago for $650. The front of the dishwasher has 10 warranty stamped onto the front panel. Boy is this deceptive advertising and misleading. The dishwasher stopped working after 18 months. The repairman says we need a new water pump for $500. This is not covered under the warranty. What kind of product is LG producing. There products should certainly last more than 18 months. You also have to clean the filter frequently to get good wash results. Its also a noisy dishwasher. I think LG should pay for the repair. A dishwasher should not require a new water pump after 18 months of moderate use

When we moved into our house we made the mistake of choosing LG for all of our new appliances: dishwasher microwave/stove Fridge washer and dryer. There is a reason their warranty isnt great 1 year and thats because they dont have enough confidence in their product to offer a longer warranty Its been 14 months and already the dishwasher has had to have the control panel replaced the fridge continues to go into defrost mode with the added bonus of having to dump all of your ice out so it doesnt melt and leak all over your floor and the stove has had to be reset. Customer service is outsourced to a foreign country so that adds frustration to frustration. Stay away.

Great Performance Quiet and Energy Efficient

Ive been using the LG LDFN4542S dishwasher for a while and it has been an excellent addition to my kitchen. Its incredibly quiet which is perfect for running even during the evening. Additionally it saves both water and electricity which is great for keeping utility bills low. The size is just right and the interior has plenty of space for all kinds of kitchen items from large pots and pans to delicate dishes. The layout is versatile and makes loading very convenient. The only downside is the capacitive touch buttons. While they look sleek they are very sensitive and can be activated by anything that touches them not just fingers. This has caused a few accidental presses which can be frustrating at times. Overall the LG LDFN4542S is a fantastic dishwasher with great performance and energy efficiency but the touch buttons could use some improvement.

Im writing this review as of 9/24. I purchased this item 6/27/24. It doesnt dry and it only washes on a few settings. It takes 2.5 hours to wash on a normal cycle which is ridiculous. Attempting to get the washer serviced using the Lg warranty has been nothing short of a time-sucking nightmare. My work ticket was closed twice by the service tech randomly. Calling to speak to someone is a complete joke and the chatbot will drive you insane. There is never a response from the chatbot except we see that you have left the conversation. Dont waste your time.

Poor Quality and Poor Customer Service

I had this dishwasher installed in May of this year. During the first use the front door immediately leaked water onto my hard wood floors. Fortunately I saw it in time before any permanent damage was done. The retailer Home Depot agreed to provide a new replacement dishwasher. When this arrived the installer noticed there was a dent in the front door so it was returned as well. At that point I decided to cancel my order and opt for a different brand. I wrote to the LG CEO at their corporate offices in Englewood Cliffs NJ in June about my experience and to date have not received any apology or even a reply from anyone at LG. Obviously they have poor product quality control and do not value their customers.

I bought this about month ago and I love it It is so quiet i had to get down to see if it was running first time I used it.only thing i dont like is lettering on control to dark black to see good on stainless front and it would be nice to have a presoak for dishs waiting for full load

Had nothing but issues. When it is running the display starts to flicker on and off real fast and makes a clicking noise. Some times it just shuts off mid cycle. Buttons on the penal are very sensitive if you brush up against it turns on.

Great dishwasher

I bought the no towel handle dishwasher. Cleans quietly. Only draw back is the night dry leaves water on top of some glasses and cups and moisture on the inside of the door.
